At Fibreplus we offer a 1 day splicing course which designed to provide the understanding and skills need to operate and maintain a fusion splicer regardless of the experience of the field engineer.
Who should attend?
This course can suit complete beginners wanting to learn how to splice and experienced engineers that are wanting to expand their knowledge.
What does the course cover?
The course starts at a beginner’s level and throughout the day as the students skills and knowledge builds, they work on more advanced fibre issues, so they are fully equipped for any job. The splicing course is designed to provide the understanding and skills required to operate and maintain a fusion splicer regardless of the experience of the field engineer.
Novice engineers will learn how to successfully splice the two most common fibre types (900um and 250um), while more experience engineers will benefit from learning about the various issues that may occur and how to solve them.
This is a one day course it is ran in our custom built training centre in Melksham Wiltshire.

"Fibreplus have an excellent facility and staff for all you fibre needs whether it be training purchasing or general sound advice. I have successfully completed both City & Guilds 3667-02 Units 1,2,&3 Level 2 in Communication Cabling (Fibre Optics), Level 3 BTEC Advanced test & Measurement (fibre Optics)and found the courses excellent very thorough and with a good mix of class work and hands on experience.
I strongly advise Fibreplus as a first point of call for anyone looking to successfully advance in the world of fibre optics.
I really enjoyed the course even allowing for the fact everyone was concentrating rather a lot on the exams at the end. Please pass on my thanks to Pete and the Team for their time and in particular the preparation for the exams. I particularly enjoyed the external enclosure practical and the OTDR demonstration. Although I regularly working with fibre optics I picked up several bits of knowledge that will be very helpful in the future.
