What is the City and Guilds 3668-03 course?

The City & Guilds 3668-03 is a Level 3 course aimed at network cabling professionals who are looking to expand their knowledge and skills and move into new job roles within the industry.

Unit 307 covers Fibre Fault Finding & Diagnostics and aims to provide learners with knowledge of the fault-finding methodologies and processes involved when determining faults on a communications network.

Completion of this unit can contribute towards the achievement of the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Communications Cabling.

Who should attend?

This course is ideal for existing network cabling professionals, due to the knowledge needed to successfully complete the course. It is aimed at those looking to increase their promotional prospects, as well as those already working in supervisory and management roles who want to prove their professionalism.

3668-03 provides progression for delegates who have already completed the City and Guilds 3668-02 Fibre Optic Installation and Testing course and is the best “progression pathway” for delegates with prior experience in fibre optic cabling who are looking to enhance their knowledge of fault finding.

What does the course cover?

Learners will develop an understanding of the fault-finding tools and processes involved when determining faults on a communications network. Students will apply this understanding by demonstrating the appropriate use and selection of tools when troubleshooting network issues.

How do you complete the course?

Our 3668-03 307 course will be delivered in-house at our training facility in Melksham, Wiltshire. Students will be required to attend our centre for 2 days.

At our facility, students will complete theory classes and written assignments. Assignments involve completing a series of tasks such as; demonstrating fault location methodologies, troubleshooting using a range of tools, evaluating documentation issues and implementing resolution methodologies.

  • Two courses completed down at Fibreplus in Melksham, both courses were fully loaded with valuable information but ran smoothly and with a good environment. Instructors know their stuff and they're all willing to pass on their knowledge. I purchases some equipment after the course too, this was well organised and I even had to call to pick their brains once, which they were more than happy to help. Keep up the good work!

  • City & Guilds 3667-02 Online Course "As I am returning/upskilling all of the units materials were extremely useful in helping me to understand both the physics, fundamental knowledge, standards and overview of fibre optic installations, both internally and externally. The presentation of the course was well balanced and the format of the video and quizzes worked well.
