The City & Guilds 3668-03 is a Level 3 course aimed at network cabling professionals who are looking to expand their knowledge and skills and move into new job roles within the industry.
Unit 309 covers Design & Planning External Enterprise Networks and aims to provide learners with knowledge of the processes involved when designing and planning an external fibre optic network.
Completion of this unit can contribute towards the achievement of the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Communications Cabling.
This course is ideal for existing network cabling professionals, due to the knowledge needed to successfully complete the course. It is aimed at those looking to increase their promotional prospects, as well as those already working in supervisory and management roles who want to prove their professionalism.
3668-03 provides progression for delegates who have already completed the City and Guilds 3668-02 Fibre Optic Installation and Testing course and is the best “progression pathway” for delegates with prior experience in fibre optic cabling who are looking to develop or improve skills in network design.
This course aims to provide learners with an understanding of the industry standards and requirements involved in external network design & planning, such as how to prepare for network surveying and evaluate hazards, risk, and environmental conditions related to networks surveying.
Learners will also develop an understanding of the considerations, skills, and procedures necessary to plan an external fibre network, including how to prepare, produce and develop detailed planning and documentation based on network specifications.
Our 3668-03 309 courses will mainly be delivered in-house at our training facility in Melksham, Wiltshire, however delegates are required to view around 1.5 hours of online video content via our e-learning portal prior to attendance.
At our facility, students will be required to complete theory classes and written assignments. Assignments involve completing a series of tasks such as, carrying out a paper site survey, identifying design options, documenting design choices, and identifying the works packages that make up the project.
At Fibreplus we pride ourselves on our extended support once our students have completed their course and are out working in the real world. Our Support Team and Trainers are always happy to speak over the phone and answer any questions if any support is needed after the course has been completed.
