This Design & Planning course is the ultimate training course for the telecoms industry. Aimed at network cabling professionals who are seeking to learn about the design and planning processes in the world of communications cabling. For those looking to enhance their career and promotion prospects, 3667-03 is seen by many in the industry as the ultimate must have qualification. Along with the planning you will also learn the basics in fibre optics on The City & Guilds 3667-02 Awards in Communications Cabling are suitable for those interested in becoming fibre cabling installers or those currently doing the job and seeking certification.The qualification covers the basic principles of Telecommunications, Internal & External Fibre Optic Installation.

Along with the above you also gain the CFOT certification this has been structured as a general technology certification, not aligned to any specific job function. It is used by all installers, both outside plant and premises installers, two very different applications, plus component manufacturing technicians, network managers, network designers, etc.

FOA CFOS certification is based on an extensive knowledge of fibre optics technology and application as well as demonstrated skills in appropriate tasks. This is a specialist certification covering cabling design, planning and documentation, which includes both outside plant & premise networks.


From the 3667-03, you can choose which project you wish to do; Internal (unit 02), External Overhead (unit 03), or External underground (unit 04)

  • I recently attended Fibreplus for the Fibre Optics City and Guilds 3667-02 5 day Course and left on the Friday extremely happy with everything they provided.
